I love Pixar movies which hardly makes me unique. Pixar has fan clubs, disciples, acolytes and any other kind of rapid fan you can name. Their movies make people cry, but in a good way, not like people cried after seeing the 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies.
So, being me, I decided to rank all the Pixar movies. I haven't see THE GOOD DINOSAUR so it appears on the list, but not ranked.
A couple of things. First, I clearly like THE INCREDIBLES more than fans or critics. Which just means critics and fans are dumb. Seriously. THE INCREDIBLES could have been No. 1 for me and I think it's one of the best movies ever. Great writing, incredible animation, superb voice acting. I could go on forever. I also clearly value BRAVE more. Not sure why on that one either. TOY STORY 2 better than BRAVE? Sorry, folks, I don't see it.
I think every movie on this list is better than average except for CARS 2. What a run. Since 1995 and the release of TOY STORY, Pixar has released 17 movies. Two more are coming in 2017 (CARS 3 and COCO). At the worldwide box office, they've made a collective $10.8 billion, an average of nearly $650 million per picture. Even their 'bombs' make $300+ million dollars.
On the down side, I'm lower on Ratatouille than most. I can't handles rats making food. And I ranked UP 7th despite the fact that it's got the best romantic scene in movie history at the beginning. Ranking these movies is nearly impossible. INSIDE OUT and THE INCREDIBLES are my two favorite, but between TOY STORY 3 and WALL-E, there's very little delineation. I absolutely love the first 11 movies on this list. And besides CARS 2, there's not a movie I don't really like.
