My 5 Most Anticipated Movies of 2016
/5. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice
Release Date: March 26
% chance I see it in the theater: 100%
Why I'm Excited: I still have some reservations about this one. Man of Steel was only OK for me, but I want Batman and Superman's first appearance on the big screen together to be awesome. And I love the casting of Ben Affleck as the older Dark Knight. Of my top 5, this is the only one I'm worried that I won't like.
4. Finding Dory
Release Date: June 17
% chance I see it in the theater: 100%
Why I'm Excited: Soon I'm going to publish my rankings of all the Pixar movies. Without ruining it, Finding Nemo is one of my favorites. As a father of four, taking my girls to good movies is something I look forward to. We'll all enjoy going together to this one.
3. Untitled Jason Bourne 5
Release Date: July 29
% chance I see it in the theater: 100%
Why I'm Excited: This series is one of my favorites, especially the original three staring Matt Damon. The movie doesn't even have a title yet, but I'm so excited about this one. Don't tell James Bond fans, but this is the best spy series going.
2. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Release Date: Dec. 16
% chance I see it in the theater: 100%
Why I'm Excited: The runaway success of The Force Awakens has put the SW universe back into the biggest spotlight possible. Rogue One will be a first for the cinematic universe, a heist/spy movie shortly before the events in the original movie. Next to Batman vs Superman, this is riskiest of the five. but Disney seems to know what they're doing, so my confidence is high.
1. Captain America: Civil War
Release Date: May 6
% chance I see it in the theater: Is there something above 100%
Why I'm Excited: I am an unabashed fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While this movie has the risk of falling under weight of growing, bloated universe, but I trust that this will be best movie yet in the MCU. I love that there may not be a classical villain, that it will be perspectives facing off more than straight up good vs. evil. I expect it will be dramatic, action packed and awesome. Nothing less will do.
